Floyd Street Media

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 27, 2026

This policy explains what the Floyd Street Media mobile app collects, why, and who it is shared with. The app is operated by Floyd Street Media and built on the Afanity fan engagement platform, which processes data on its behalf. It applies to the iOS and Android apps and the companion web experience. It does not cover the separate policies of any site or service you reach by following a link out of the app.

You can use the app without an account

Browsing as a guest is supported. You do not have to create an account to read articles, watch videos, listen to podcasts, or view forum discussions. An account is required only to post, comment, react, subscribe, or buy.

What we collect

CategoryWhatWhy
Account information Email address, display name, and profile image if you add one. To create and secure your account and send sign-in links.
Content you create Forum posts, comments, replies, reactions, poll and prediction answers, and any images or clips you upload. To publish it in the app and to moderate it.
Purchase information Order history and membership status. Card numbers are entered into and held by Stripe — we never receive or store them. To fulfil memberships, merchandise, and ticket orders.
Device and usage data Device model, OS version, app version, language, approximate region, screens viewed, and features used. To keep the app working, understand which content is read, and fix problems.
Diagnostics Crash reports and performance traces, via Firebase Crashlytics. To find and fix crashes. Not linked to advertising.
Advertising identifiers Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS) and ad interaction data, via Google AdMob — only if you allow tracking. To show ads and sponsor content and measure how they perform.
Push token A device push token issued by Apple or Google, via Firebase Cloud Messaging. To send notifications you have opted into.

Advertising and tracking

The app shows advertising and sponsor placements. On iOS, before any tracking happens, the app asks for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, we do not use your device's advertising identifier and ads shown to you are not personalised. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Where regional rules require it, a consent form is presented through Google's User Messaging Platform before ads load.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.

Who we share it with

We also disclose information when we are legally required to, or when it is necessary to investigate abuse, fraud, or a threat to someone's safety.

Content you post is public

Forum posts, comments, and reactions are visible to other people using the app, under your display name. Do not post anything you would not want other fans to see. The app provides in-app reporting and user blocking, and posts that violate the community rules are removed by moderators.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time — open your profile, choose Account settings, then Delete account. Deleting your account removes your profile and personal details and disconnects your posts from your identity. We keep records we are legally required to keep, such as purchase and tax records, for as long as the law requires. If you cannot reach the in-app control, email hello@afanity.io and we will delete the account for you.

Your choices

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Credentials and session tokens are stored in the device keychain. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit who inside our organisation can reach it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, tell you inside the app.
